Defining Patricia Phelps de Cisneros is extremely difficult, but by way of summary, you could say that the Venezuelan collector and patron (who also has Spanish nationality) is one of the most influential people in the art world. The range of positions she holds in entities and museums around the world, in addition to her countless awards, are proof of this. She has ties with MoMa in New York (one of only two Latin American members on its board of directors), the Tate Gallery of London, the Museum Bergguen in Berlin, the Beyeler Foundation in Basel, Harvard University, Museo de Prado and the Museo de la Reina Sofía.
While she has many positions, her mission is always the same: to educate about Latin American culture, art and history by showing her collection around the world.
